I first met Belinda when she came to photograph some jewellery for a blog piece on the hidden side of Hong Kong. Her background as a magazine stylist came into its own at the shoot and she was able to capture the essence of every piece and take photos that went so far beyond simple product shots. She has a keen following in Hong Kong for her iconic montages that sum up the vibrancy and energy of the city that never sleeps. If you would like to see more of her work you can visit her website at www.belindabathimages.com or contact Belinda directly to discuss making your own custom piece that reflects your personal Hong Kong experience belindabathimages@gmail.com

What do you love most about what you do?

I love working with my clients to create a new design each time, it’s a real collaboration and I love being able to create a beautiful piece incorporating their own memories. I also love to be able to get out and about in Hong Kong and explore this vibrant city.

What inspired you to start your business?

My love of photography. I started taking photographs around Hong Kong and at the same time getting to explore my new city. I ended up with so many photos that I wanted so create a platform in which to share them.

What’s the best business advice you’ve ever been given?

Try to protect the copyright of your images as much as you can. Too many people try to copy your work.

Who or what inspires you?

So many different things, colour, my surrounds, my travels, people that you meet.

A favourite piece of art that you own and one you would love to have?

My favourite piece is a beautiful contemporary painting that we bought in Hanoi by a well know artist there called Cam. Its all in Pink and yellows, one of my favourite colour combinations.

And finally, favourite photograph from among the thousands you have taken over the years?

I have just been to India to photograph the holi festival and the images that I took there are currently some of my favourite images, especially this one portrait of a boy completely coated in yellow powder.
